A segment of the population defends bullfighting as a form of cultural expression and artistic tradition. But what kind of culture finds meaning in publicly killing an animal while watching its agony with pleasure? These popular spectacles are less about tradition and more about an expression of brutality.
Through my illustrations, I seek to document the reality of the bull's experience—not for shock value, but as visual testimony. I focus on the anatomy of suffering: the tension in muscles strained beyond endurance, the fear visible in wide eyes, the silent screams that go unheard, the weight of a body struggling against inevitable collapse. These are not dramatizations but careful observations of pain made visible through facial expressions, body language, and the physical manifestations of trauma. My intention is to make the invisible visible—to show what is often ignored or romanticized in the spectacle.
